Use MAC Studio Fix Fluid. It's soooo great. There are really no tricks, only using the right foundation. I have very oily skin, so my makeup usually slides right off, and this stuff looks like i just put it on (I've had it on for 6 hours now). It doesn't look cakey, my skin looks airbrushed perfect.

One of the tricks are to properly clean, tone and moisturize your face before putting on the foundation. Use a sponge applicator to apply your foundation (liquid or powder). Remember to remove any excess to make the foundation appear even. Also MAC makes blotting tissues to help with keeping your foundation looking fresh throughout the day. OR you can lightly reapply the foundation to remove the shine (spreading evenly).

Try using bare minerals (Bare Esscentuals) you can get it on QVC or from their website. It is light but yet gives you a perfect finish. If you want to freshen up mid-day it's in powder form, so it's not like smearing on more foundation and looking all caked up. It is more spendy than drug store make-up, more along the price of department store make-up. It doesn't even rub off when you change clothes, or on the collar of your coats!!!It is great, your skin will look as smooth as silk all day!!!!!!!!

apply liquid foundation with a make up wedge. make up wedges are sold in drugstores, pharmacies, etc. apply it evenly on the face and let dry. for a better look and so that the make up stays on all day, try applying a moisturizer/sun screen or an uplifting serum to the face after cleansing and toning, but before make up application.
