Even if you were straight, life's still better after highschool. ;) Like...the media tries to make all this nostalgia about it, but...my senior year was ok. All three of the other ones sucked beyond measure. And it's kind of like that with most people. As for the queer part of life: some of the friends I've made are just really awesome, and I don't think I'd have met them or connected with them like I do if I were straight. Making a sweeping generalization that is NOT always true: queer people are pretty awesome. We laugh, because if we didn't we'd be crying our whole lives. The bad part: feeling helpless to make the world any better. That's something I'm really working on, because if I sit back and say I can't do anything, then nothing's going to get done.

Well I can honestly say the worst part of being a "sexual minority" is not having the same respect, "rights" or "privilages" of the "majority" of society. The funny thing is...what makes a person more deserving of any of these rights or privilages ya know?

I can honestly the best part of being a gay man is being a "rebel" of society. lol Being out there and pushing people's buttons and making them think about their own ideals and issues; of what a human being is supposed to be or how a person is supposed to live their life. I guess I get a kick out that...and freaking people out when I hold hands with another guy! haha

It's about the same as being straight, just more complicated. Except for the fact that people alienate you when they find out. The grass isn't greener on any side. Life just gets easier when you know more about who you are and who you want to become.

The best part is that I really like who I am and that I am not forced into stereotypes that society demands...I wouldn't but I could take up ballet tomorrow for instance and nobody I know would be upset cause I was crossing somekind of society determined gender boundary...likewise a lesbian could take up automechanics and nobody in the GLBT communitiy would raise an eyebrow...To me there is no downside...

The best part? Accepting yourself and understanding what and who it is that you need to look for to be happy.
The Worst part? Dealing with all those others who put you down, attack, denigrate and insult you for something that is neither their business nor their concern. Your religious belief is your own, it is not their place to attempt to force you to live by their standards and more than it is the place of a Jewish or Muslim person's place to walk up and slap a pork chop out of their hand or get them banned for being sold altogether.
There are some wonderful things about accepting yourself but it does come with issues.

egh. It differs from person to person i suppose. but for me, seeing as i'm bi. The best part is the sex which is mind blowing <3. and the worst part is that i'm still in the closet about it and i'm very timid so i don't exactly tell people straightfoward. So the worst part for me is liking a guy very very much and not being able to tell him or being able to do anthing about it. it's horrible. and i should tell people but bleh...iunno.

The worst is now you have more freedom along with your raging hormones so you are prone to do mor risky thing that could lead to STD's. the best is the freedom and the raging hormones and you are becoming less shallow.

The good thing about being gay is being able to act on your feelings, The bad part is that some people won't approve, won't accept and try to make life for you a living hell.

Worst:

Homophobes.

Those who are willfully ignorant and choose to look down on you because you are not like them.

Best:

Spending time with my partner and raising children! Having an amazing love and a wonderful family life!

I suppose the best part is having the freedom and confidence to be who you are and not having to hide or apologize.

The worse part is the dumbarse attitudes of others. Reference the gay bashing that goes on at this site alone.
