I have been separated from my (soon 2 be ex) wife for sometime now & I have not entertained going out with any women or looking for the "HOOK UP" until the divorce is final! (Although it's been a challenge) .

I left work yesterday and picked up some chinese food; Now I normally do not read into fortunes, BUT when I opened up the fortune cookie it read : " If you can't excel with talent, triumph with effort."

AND WE ALL KNOW THE FAMOUS TWO WORDS YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO ADD @ THE END OF THE SENTENCE. (Right?)

I know I am bugging out...but what is this really saying?...Do I have no talent for real? Or Is it telling me to get back on the prowl before I lose what skills I got?

Damn Fortune Cookie!...lol

P.S. I am not going back to that Chinese Place EVER Again ( lol )

Wow, dude. I am amazed that a big dude like you would let a little fortune cookie, or maybe MISFORTUNE cookie intimidate you like it has. Eat the cookie and forget it..(the cookie) and go on with your life and plan for what is ahead for you. As far as what the fortune said....you can put a lot of effort in both directions, it won't hurt you either way and I am sure you'll come out waaaaay ahead of the game.

Sheding your spouse is a good thing if it wasn't working, (the first good thing). Now plan, forge ahead and find some great company to start a new adventure with........

Fortune cookie...BE Damned!!!

I think you're right on when it comes to the "non-hookup" issue as jumping into something when you're fresh from a breakup never leads to anything good. I believe that whatever skills you have will come back to you like riding a bike...if you could "ride the bike with no hands before, you will definitely be able to ride the bike with no hands" once the divorce is final. And, good for you for waiting until the divorce is final! Not many men would be able/willing to do that. Good luck and I hope the Chinese food was at least tasty...:)

Its funny how we read into things like that. If you read horoscopes and its says "You will have the best day ever" Isn't it funny how the day turns out good. We read it so we make it happen. Cookies you either eat em or they turn to crumbs. I don't think it means anything. You could of got another one. Who knows, maybe they picked two more before they gave you that one.

Haha My mom have been given a fortune asserting 'a clean kit deal of exhilaration will enter your existence'. The day previously, she found out she replaced into pregnant. With me being the little kit deal of exhilaration!!! :) 21 years later, she nonetheless has the little paper!

LMAO good cookie!!!!!
If you're legally separated, go out, have fun, be safe. The divorce is simply a document at this time, there's no issues of infidelity, if that's what the dilemma is.

it has nothing to do with dating or going on the 'prowl'.
it means what it means....
if you cant excel with talent, in other words, if you have no talent to excel with, then you can triumph with effort. in other words, triumph because you made an effort.
nothing more, nothing less

I'll tell you what this is really saying...NO MORE FORTUNE COOKIES FOR YOU! Take your time you're not going to lose any skills in that department.

too funny :)

sounds to me that you need to go prowling, but wait for the divorce to be final before you fine tune your skills :)

I think you are making too much for this. You are doing the descent thing by honoring your marriage by waiting for the divore to be finalized. All men should be as honorable as you are behaving.
