I'd say just to get to know him better if she shows an interest in you. Friendship is nice. A lot of women enjoy a little attention from the guys. If you are interested in her, show her your full attention. Ask her to go get a Coke or cup of coffee with you so you can get to know her a little better. Actually listen to her and tell her about yourself without dominating the conversation too much.

Honest conversation about real topics. You don't need to talk politics and the like but, I'd rather not have to listen to the box scores of the latest football game or fall per fall of a wrestling match.
I want a guy to talk to me. Look me in the eyes. Speak from the heart. If he can do that then the relationship (in my eyes) has a chance.

No, for real, it depends. Some just need to keep walking. Some should hang out for a chat. Some need to book a hotel room _right now_. Heh, more of the first than the last, sadly.
Just be yourself. Or, well, be a more polite version of yourself. Ask some questions, try to gauge her reaction. If she's looking over your shoulder constantly, seems really tense, and won't meet your eyes, you should move on. If she's leaning into you and seems interested in what you're saying, ask her out.

All women are different....but all in all I think that most women just want friendship to see what kind of character the man has. Try to be understanding, a good listener, & honest. That should put you off to a very good start. Good luck finding that special woman.
