I really dislike graphing and don't understand some of it but could you help with this question. I need to write a definition for a piecewise-function. The graph has an enclosed line from (-1,1) to (0,0) and another enclosed line from (0,0) to (2,1). The ends are filled so it means the end numbers are included in the equation. Any help would be appreciated.

It's long since I did maths. But look at this.

Plot the graph as explained in question. you will get two lines.

x+y=0 (first line) and (points 0,0 and -1,1 satisfies this eqn)

x-2y=0 (2nd Line) (points 0,0 and 2,1 satisfies the 2nd line)

So you have defined the two lines. The two lines meet at (0,0)

Good Luck

Sandy!

Sorry that i don't have a "greater than or equal to" or "less than or equal to" sign but:

-1 greaterthanorequalto x lessthanorequalto 0

0 greaterthan x lessthanorequal to 2
