Just listen to them gush:

"Viva Fidel! Viva Che! Castro is the most honest and courageous politician I've ever met." Jesse Jackson

"Meeting Fidel Castro were the eight most important hours of my life." Steven Spielberg.

"Very selfless and moral. One of the world's wisest men." Oliver Stone

"Cuba's Elvis." Dan Rather

"A source of inspiration to the world." Naomi Campbell

"Socialism works. I think Cuba can prove that." Chevy Chase

"To be a poor child in Cuba may be better than being a poor child in the U.S." Eleanore Clift

Other liberals who have visited Cuba and Castro include Robert Redford, Spike Lee, Sidney Pollack, Woody Harrelson, Danny Glover, Ed Asner, Shirley MacLaine, Alanis Morissette, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Kevin Costner.

Apparently these useful idiots, as Lenin would have called them, are either ignorant of, or willing to ignore the real nature of Fidel Castro, this "extremely humane" dictator who is a homicidal communist brute.

This is a man who has killed tens of thousands of his own citizens. He's killed over 30 Americans, he harbors fugitives from U.S. justice, he has supported terrorism and narco-terrorism throughout the hemisphere, causing untold thousands of other citizens' deaths.

Scott: Saddam? Please! Have you been living in a cave lately? We KILLED him. Now, if liberals are willing to kill Castro, I will gladly concede your point ;-)

I think that some of the quotes were meant to be either ambiguous or sarcastic, but I think that some were honest. I understand that you absolutely hate him and that nothing I say will change your mind about him.

However, his intentions for the people of Cuba are honorable. He wants the best for them, and he waned to aid Cuba in becoming a grand model for socialism.

Being a child in Cuba. I recently heard from one who came back from a missionary trip there. It is true. Children are medically well-cared for. Expecting mothers even more so. We still --as an "advanced country"--have no health care for our poor children.

I assume that you have never looked into socialism, as most people just take it for the "dirty word" it is supposed to be viewed as. While it often doesn't work financially (thanks to large countries like us cutting off trade to socialist countries, thereby making it impossible for them to have any money to spread among the populace), socialism is truly the most equality-driven political plan. Or maybe you have looked into it and equality is not your cup of tea.

And as far as "homicidal" goes, I'm sure that you know that we have killed so many, it is frightening. But you probably think we were "in the right." So do they.

why do you believe all liberals like castro? why do you label and stereotype? castro is what he is,he not in power through liberals support or beliefs. there are no reasons for the embargo. it is the result of american interests being siezed. should republicans be backed by cubans with money that hold a grudge against castro over money lost?

You forget, he is called all those names because he would not let Cuba play puppet to the Bush Dynasty!!
His real flaw, he unseated the fascist Batista govt that was installed by GHW Bush and the US Govt
AND
When the US threatened to invade to put him back Batista back in power, Castro sought assistance from the USSR.
BTW
The USSR did not like that he would not play puppet to them either!

For the same reason conservatives like despots. Did you happen to catch the film of Cheney and Rumsfeld joking with Saddam during the 1970's? Until your own house is clean, don't accuse others, Forrest.

Thank god we dont really listen to or act on what these educated idiots have to say. And in closing" DOES ANYONE REALLY CARE WHAT THEY THINK" I dont...

If we associated with Cuba, maybe he wouldn't harbor any of our criminals?

If Cuba wants him, let them have him. By establishing trade and association with him, we are opening the doors of his voters closed mind.
