yes, when you marry your spouse, you are responsible for each others debts. i have a good friend who just got divorced because he didn't know his wife was over $100000 in debt and he couldn't afford to pay it off.

Your responsible for what is on your own credit report. My ex-husband never paid for any of my debt when we split and my new husband pays for what we establish together not for my past.
