► Just use NVU editor (www.nvu.com), it's free and wont tie you down to one method of editing. NVU pages can be transferrable to frontpage or dreamweaver html editor
SEE http://www.interkeys.com/htmleditor for more info on Premium HTML Editors (WYSIWYG)

► I would use http://www.interkeys.com/tophosts to get a good webhost and your own domain for a few bucks a month with 700 GIG bandwidth and the rich with features

its up to you how developed a site you want and if you want to use your own domain name

First find an ISP company to host your website for you. Many of them have deals that include a free domain (eg whatever.com) when you sign up for 1 year of hosting. I use http://www.belahost.com, but if you are new to designing websites you should look around for one that also gives you a visual (WYSIWYG) website editor.

Or instead of the WYSIWYG editor, you can buy editing software such as Macromedia Dreamweaver or Contribute that lets you create websites in a visual way. Once you have created the website you need to upload it to your ISP. Dreamweaver and Contribute can do this automatically once you give them your hosting information.

First, you need to find a place to host your site. I would recommend Godaddy.com.
Next you will have to build your site. To build the site you need a WYSIWYG editor (what you see is what you get). I would recommend either FrontPage or Dreamweaver. You may also want to purchase a book for the program you decide to use.
Once your site is built you have to uploaded to your server. This can be done right in the program you choose to use.

You can design your own website with a program like Dreamweaver, or you can use template pages that are pre-designed for you. Yahoo offers them, as does Bravenet.com or GoDaddy.com.
