ok...for all you eco-freaks who are calling it global warming...check a friggin weather station. they even have satelite images and radar stuff online, so you dont even have to get off your butt.

its warm out because theres a stream of air coming up the east coast. we're getting air coming from way down south. that rain we got was a result of that warm air current mixing with the cold air that typically blows across the great lakes from canada. the stream of air coming from the south is much stronger than the one that blows from our maple-syrup loving neighbors and THAT'S why is warm today

interestingly enough, when i got up this morning and looked at the thermometer, i thought to myself "oh geez...there's gonna be a lotta global warming nuts screaming about this one..."

I answered the a question like this a couple of times so I'll give you the same answer:

This is the effect of global warming which is caused by the burning of fossil fuels such as gas and coal and the clearing of trees. Clearing trees increases carbon dioxide levels and scientists believe carbon dioxide levels will double before 2050 to 750 parts per million.

And no, strictly it shouldn't happen but there are too many pollutants in this world. Some people however believe this is a natural process for us to get crazy weather which will eventually turn back to normal.

In fact, January 2006 was the hottest January on record in Toronto. I however believe this is nothing to freak about and some people *cough* tree-huggers *cough* are too concerned over this issue. One thing is certain however, don't expect too many white Christmases from now on.

Climate changes. Global warming. Manbearpig. Whatever you want to call it, it's very real and it's happening right now.

And it's not just *warming* that's a problem. It's all the severe storms we've had lately.

For an enjoyable, lucid and at times even fun explanation of the hows and whys of global warming, watch Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth." By the time the credits roll, you can walk around feeling like an expert. ;)

Before you start ranting over global warming, ask the people of Denver (three straight Friday snowstorms) what they think of global warming.

Weather is cyclical. I am sure NY will have its fair share of blizzards in the future.

The cause of this phenomenon is called global warming.

The holes in the ozone layer are getting bigger by the minute & causing the earth to be warmer.

This will continue in the future and we will probably say goodbye to our cold cold winters.
