I can't burn because it continually gives me this message. I have even tried to get different CD/DVD's. None of them seem to be recognized by my burner.

You might try doing this: Right click on "My Computer", then choose "Properties", then click on the tab that says "Hardware". Then click on the tab that says "Device Manager". Find your CD drive among the hardware devices, and right click on that drive. Select "Uninstall". Continue with the uninstall and then exit from those windows. Now reboot your computer, and Windows should "see" your CD drive as "New Hardware" and install the proper drivers for it. Once that's done, try both reading and writing a CD. If it still doesn't recognize the disc as being in the drive, then you might buy one of those CD/DVD drive cleaning discs. If that doesn't work, then chances are you'll have to replace the drive with a new one. If you do get a new drive, you might as well get a DVD/CD burner to replace it. Newegg.com has many for sale, and you can search for one at their link as listed below. Good luck.

Your burner is not recognizing the disk. It could be because of dust buildup inside the drive or the laser reader/writer is askew.

That happened to me and My burner was not working. You can use PC Doc to test your drive. And then can your support team. Good Luck!
