im working on a group english project and we are filming two short clips that show the contrast between romeo and mercutio in romeo & juliet. romeo is stubborn and we are using the example of him talking to friar lawrence i think.. our english teacher says mercutio is "easily changeable" and "unpredictable" but we cant find anything from the play that exemplifies that. help!!

Read the wikipedia description of Mercutio at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercutio where it explains what your teacher is talking about. I would cut and past the article here - but it would take up alot of space.

Good Luck!!!

i dont know if i remember right but in the market wasnt he joking around with Tybalt for awhile and then he goes crazy and they start sworfighting? I dunno...well check that scene out anyway. I think that Mercutio is much more humorous than Romeo. Romeo is much more dramatic where as Mercutio trys to make people laugh with his dying breath

In Act 3 scene 1 mercutio and benvolio are talking about the might tybalt and how grand he is (sarcasticly). tybalt shows up and says he looking for romeo so he can challenge him to kill him. romeo shows up and tybalt wants to fight then mercutio pulls a sword on him and romeo says no. tybalt pulls his and they start fighting. romeo gets in the way of mercutio and tybalt stabs him with a dagger. Look at the beginning of Act Three Scene 1. im studying it too for english advanced so mercutio is a little bit on the crazy side. I hope this helps :)

The part of Mercutio in the marketplace (not very long before he dies); he has a strong sense of humor and is very comfortable with himself.
