I can't seem to stop biting on my lower lip...I think it is stress/nervous thing, just want to see if there is something I could do to stop. Also any ideas on how to stop biting my fingernails would help too. I work in the hospitality business and I am always around people so I would really like to stop biting my nails.

hi Jo I easily were biting my lips and cheeks for therefore long as I keep in thoughts. inspite of the indisputable fact that, I do struggle through with melancholy and characteristic self harmed on and stale considering i change into 17 (i'm now 30). each so often I had to drink espresso by a straw because my lips were swollen and blistered. i can't end both!! i'm not particular if this is only a foul habit that i have had for years or if there is something extra to it. And worse i can't end till i have bitten good by my gums. It makes my eyes water! i am going to keep an eye fixed on your question and with slightly of success someone could have a answer! or possibly we'd want to consistently merely get some treatment!! To stop biting your lip, put some lip gloss on. Lip gloss usually doesn't taste good plus you get it on your teeth when you bite your lip. To stop chewing your nails, you can keep sented lotion on which doesn't taste good, or dip your fingertips in something that doesn't taste good.

OMG I do the same thing I try to either chew gum or suck on something like a Jolly Rancher it really helps!

Try to live a STRESS FREE LIFE. Try chewing gum or try having something in your mouth to chew on.Really you have to learn to Relax and take a hold of yourself.

Well u could dip ur finger into lemon and 4 ur lip try to think of something that will make u not nervous

Chew on bubble gum or something to replace your bottom lip or your fingernails. xD

you should chew gum or put something u don't like the taste of on your lips like petroleum jelly. my sister has a problem sucking her thumb, and she has to wear a sock on her hand at night because its so bad she does it in her sleep!

Rub your fingers in pigeon poop. If pigeon poop doesn't work then try imagining Chicken poop on your finger every time you stick them close to your face. Plus you could think of all the other bacteria involved with working with the public before sticking fingers in your orifice. Plus people are thinking what a nervous wreck. Then they have an insight to your mind, and they will play headgames with you.

I have the same bad habits also, I also crack my nuckels.

maybe try chewing gum to keep your mouth busy.
