I currently sing. I write music lyrics. I also played the calrinet from grade school until 10th grade. I recently took a beginners piano class. I would really like to perfect my musical abilities...Where do I begin?

You should keep learning new songs and pick yourself an instrument. The more you learn the more you to practice and the more you practice the more better you get at that song. Then after you know the song enough that you are playing it while your dreaming, set up a show to show people that you got it going on. Then repeat

Find a teacher who will encourage you to explore various styles, rather than just play what they want you to. And regardless of lessons, be prepared to practice practice practice...you won't get better sitting around thinking about it!
