Is it a home makers helper or secret scourge off the kitchen.

It doesn't even taste like what it suppose to taste like. Should we be made to eat this SH#@!?

When I was but a young child I would cry when my mother would make it for dinner.

( But I cry over every thing when I was young cause I leaned early on that what a woman had to do to get what she wants dammit.)

She would make me sit there until I ate it all, soon morning would come I wake in a plate of hamburger lasagna to find her sound asleep in bed so I'd flesh it and some of the noodles wouldn't go away. But that's moot.

What do you think of it? and
What are some of the food that you've eaten now or as a child that didn't set well?

Hamburger helper -- this is funny. I consider myself quite a good cook, but every now and then convenience has to come first. I am actually embarrassed to be seen with HH in my grocery cart. I will actually hide it behind the toilet paper and cereal boxes. As if anyone would care whether or not I had HH in my basket. Silly isn't it?

OK, foods that carry emotional baggage from childhood -- Hot Links and Cabbage, liver, canned peas -- eeewww!

Hamburger Helper is HORRIBLE. You can do so much better with a few things like garlic, onion powder, soy sauce, and hot sauce and your own noodles! You can use pasta or ramen noodles or whatever! You don't even have to be really good at cooking to come up with some really good combos, either.

One thing I ate as a child that I can't believe I actually ate was marshmallow fluff. Yuk! I can't even stomach the stuff now.

I hate to tell you this, but Hamburger Helper is the gourmet food of White Trash. It's a staple in every trailer across America.

I like hamburger helper, but I don't like every one of them. My favorite is cheeseburger macaroni. I've always put onions and bell peppers (or Seasonings' Blend) in the hamburger meat when I'm browning it...besides my regular seasonings. Tastes good to me.
