I don't know about the MLB championship...but right now the favorite for the World Series seems to be the Cubs, seeing as they have the best record. Heres how I see the playoffs working out: In the AL the Red Sox will win the East, the Angles the West, the Indians will turn it around in the second half and win the weak Central, and the Yankees will take the Wild Card. In the NL the Phillies will take the East, the D-Backs the West, the Cubs the Central, and the Cardnals will win the Wild Card. In the World Series I see the Angles beating the Cubs in seven games.

I disagree. In fact, there will be NO winner of the MLB Championship this year, just like there were no winners in every other baseball season that was ever played. That's right. There is NO MLB Championship. Never was. Why?

The contest used to determine the best MLB team is known as the World Series. So, if your question pertains to your opinion that the Red Sox will win, then I still disagree.

Sadly, it's looking more and more like it'll be the Yankees. All of those who said the Red Sox, how can you say that? Sure, the Red Sox's rotation has the potential to be great, and we all know what the offense can do. What do you do about a sub-par defense and a bullpen without a closer? The Red Sox lost Keith Foulke and Papelbon is going to start. The closer is arguably your most important pitcher, stop being homers.

AL East: New York Yankees
AL Central: Cleveland Indians
AL West: Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
AL Wild Card: Boston Red Sox

NL East: New York Mets
NL Central: Chicago Cubs
NL West: Los Angeles Dodgers
NL Wild Card: Florida Marlins

Yankees def. Angels
Indians def. Red Sox
Mets def. Cubs
Dodgers def. Marlins

Yankees def. Indians
Mets def. Dodgers

Yankees def. Mets

I disagree, but the Red Sox are a distinct possibility at the title. Yes, they're getting better with David Ortiz hitting more homers every year. But I think another surprise team will win in '07, like the A's or, maybe even Detroit. Mets will also make a run for it and they may win it.

First what is the MLB Championship??? Do you mean the World Series? If so then I say go BRAVES. But yeah the Red Sox are going to be hard to beat.

I agree with this answer not just because I am a Boston fan but my only worry is if the club can stay healthy. Ex: J.D. Drew. Great player with a lot of talent but he has been injured for every season he has not played out a full season thusfar. One thing I don't agree on is Papelbon's decision about moving into the starting rotation because he was so dominant at the closer role with an era under 1.00 and I'm also worried about his stamina through the game because he may pitch 3 or 4 good innings but he may burn out the next 2 innings. So they do have a good shot of making it there, but they have to remain healthy and find a closer to fill Papelbon and Foulke's shoes.

Being a Red Sox fan I would love to say you are correct but I still think it is a little too early to say for sure. Teams are still putting finishing touchs on their line ups... heck the Sox still do not have a right fielder signed nor do they have a closer yet.

I have to disagree on this one.
While they look good on paper, The Red Sox
always seem to find a way to lose in September.

If you are counting on whatshisname to be the pitcher he's supposed to be---don't. He is unproven in MLB.

Only time will tell.
If the red sox do make the playoffs they would have to get past whomever wins The Central Division.
That likely will not happen.

Oh, and for your information, the MLB "championship" is called
The WORLD SERIES!

agree- the Cubs will choke again in the NLCS against the Braves, losing on some crazy play (Buckner, guy tips ball, Prior and Wood are healthy all year, get hurt in the playoffs, all of the above), and the Sox lineup, rotation and bullpen will overpower the Braves in 4 games

Red Sox, definitely.
