All of a sudden I got a pain when I urinated. When I wiped, it was tinged with blood. It is very uncomfortable and I can't get relief. Any suggestions?

You need to see a Dr. It could be a urinary tract infection, not a bladder infection. Hurry and go or you probably won't be able to urinate at all.

Gatorade has electrolites in it that will help to hydrate you if lack of fluids is part of the problem. Drown yourself in as much fluid as you can to try to flush the infection out. I have a small blatter and have had many infections, some of the VERY mild ones I was able to drink enough fluid and cranberry juice to get rid of it on my own. Yes, it really can help rid the infection. DON'T use the kind of juice that says "Juice Cocktail" on the label. That has too much sugar and is not concentrated enough with cranberries. Make sure the cranberry juice is 100% juice, many brands are now 100% cranberry. Quality cranberry juice produces hippuric acid in the urine which acidifies the urine and prevents bacteria from sticking to the walls of the bladder. If pure cranberry juice is not available, cranberry capsules can be substituted. They can be found in most health food stores. Always take these with a large glass of water. Some that were really really bad, with blood in the urine and everything I ended up having to go to the emergency room and get antiobiotics to clear it up. If it gets so bad you are in the b-room 24/7 and hurting, try to get the antiobiotics for it if you can afford it, otherwise drink lots and lots of cranberry juice or any other fluid, but if you are bleeding, it probably pretty serious and needs to be treated by antiobiotics, esspecially if you start to vomit and get dizzy. By not treating it right away it is possible to cause perminent damage to your kidney, and the more time you wait the worse it gets.

Oh, and taking a hot bath and...yes, this sounds gross, but just relaxing the muscle and allow yourself to pee if you have to, that provides relief for a while.

Goodluck!

Okay, it may take too long to get to you, but here is a site where you can order the pills to cure it without a prescription (if you don't have insurance) :

*note* A bladder infection is also called a urinary tract infection (UTI) by most medical people, the most common type of UTI is a bladder infection, which is also often called cystitis. The other kind of UTI is a kidney infection, which is also known as pyelonephritis. This kind of infection can be serious, but if treated quickly the kidney is most often not damaged permanently.

Get yourself to a doctor...or to an immediate care facility...or the hospital...you might have a bladder infection. I have two children who have had bladder infections...and waiting is the worst thing you could do...because...if you have a bladder infection...it will only get worse...believe me!!!!

I get bladder infections all the time and that is what you have . I take Alfalfa and Optiflora for mine and I don't get them anymore. These are vitamin supplements that you cannot buy in the store.

You definately need to go to the doctor to get antibiotics. If you let it go on too long you might need to be hospitalized.
