Then you are could have one of two gene combos--Bb or BB. Since your bf has blue eyes, he can only be bb. If you are BB, which there is really no way to know without testing, there is no chance your baby having anything but dark eyes. If you are Bb, there is a 25% chance it will have blue eyes. The only eye colors that really matter are yours and your boyfriends. However, some genetic masking/blending/ co-dominance could occur and that would increase the chances of light colored eyes, although not necessarily blue. It's all really a game of chance.Hope this helps.

Brown eyes are dominant, but it is likely that your child can have blue eyes. If you carry the gene as Bb, and your boyfriend has the gene as bb, which it appears he does as he does not have brown eyes, there is a 50% chance that your dominant gene will be added to your baby's make-up as s/he develops, and s/he could be born with brown eyes. It's just a matter of how things all turn out with the sperm and egg.
My husband and I both have brown eyes, but we both carry the recessive gene. Our firstborn has blue eyes, our younger kids have brown eyes.

blue eyes are a recessive trait. It is possible that your mother passed on her blue eyed gene to you. B=Brow b=blue

So you could be Bb or BB you boyfriend can only be bb

so the equation goes like this:

_ B _ b_ / B _ B
b Bb bb / Bb Bb
b Bb bb / Bb Bb

So your best chance is 50/50 the worst is your grand kids will have light eyes.

Now as for green/amber that's a whole other lesson on genetics. If you would like a full blown explanation you can msg me.

It depends if you are carrying the resessive gene for blue eyes from your maternal grandmother.... there's no way to know without genetic testing and even then it's still only 50/50 hehe.

Blue eyes are from a recessive gene. You have a greater chance of having a dark eyed child than a blue eyed one.

your baby will be born will blue eyes. Nearly all babies are. However, the baby may not keep them. I think brown is the dominant gene but I could be mistaken.
