Some folks just aren't people persons by nature. I always bring something totally bizzare to occupy my time if I know I'll have to stick around: I'll read books about colonizing mars, or make chain maille, or play solitaire using tarot cards. Most of the time, it lets me just sort of do my thing by myself, sometimes it's a conversation starter... of course most of the people who decide to talk to me then turn out to be pretty psycho.

Other times, I just step outside for a while.

All the same really. I've found that if it's people you're going to have to see on a fairly regular basis, it's often best to just start talking, about anything. Movies, TV shows, and such are usually a pretty safe topic, and it can let you get a slightly better idea of who all these creepy strangers are. Once you know a little bit about them, they're not so hard to talk to.

Sure, I feel like I can't talk to anyone all the time. Sometimes I am just shy, but other times I just don't feel like I fit in. I got depressed alot. But not so much anymore. I like to write in my journal. Quite often, actually, I write down alot of stuff that I am thinking and want to say but can't, into my journal. that helps alot. It helps me vent, and you get the sense that someone is listening to you. You can talk all you want, and it doesn't matter if you make a fool out of yourself, because no one can hear it. then usually I feel more relaxed and able to talk to people more.
