the east is WIDE open and as such the heat still have a shot since anything can happpen there but due to their probable low seed
You have to look at the cavs, pistons, and bulls (Magic are too young and not ready yet and wizards have no defense)
the cavs almost beat the pistons last year and now the pistons don't have big Ben and are even more vulnerable and the bulls don't have that one guy who can take over like a LeBron
so the east is open for the cavs to take it
so I'd say the east is the cavs to win

i doubt the suns or mavericks will win the EASTERN conference considering they are in the WEST
i think the wizards have a good shot the way they are playing right now, and they beat the suns at phoenix and they beat the mavericks at dallas after each had long winning streaks. They seem to have a pretty good presence down low with haywood finally and etan thomas should come back soon... and they have some guy named gilbert arenas!

The Pistons, they are still a good- and they are great for the East. Unfortunately the East can not keep up with the West- some of the worst teams in the West are the best in the East and that is pathetic but I think that Detroit is has won enoough championships in the recent years that they can still win the East out of pride.

some one coming out of the central because every team has expierience from being in the play offs in the last five years i would say the cavs because there only getting better and better as Mike Brown has been their coach
