It's a little dif for me to tackle someone then you seeing how i'm 5'10 240 but if you want to be a corner and ur kinda smaller go for the knees because you can't run without knees. The correct way is to break down in an atheletic stance, put your shoulder in his stomach, wrap your arms around him, lift, and drive him down to the ground.Oh and to roger offence is for pussys. From Kyle Smith Magnolia High School All-Valley D-Tackle.

Since you are pretty much playing backyard football the rules are limited. -Even the number of team members. -Before you play, decide which team will get the ball first, then one team will kick or throw the ball to the other team.(kick off) -Offensive is the team with the ball. Defense is the team who is making the tackles/preventing the offense from scoring. -The offense can either run or pass the ball. -The offense will have a quarterback(the person in charge of the offense) who will pass the ball to people on the same team running by the defenders. The quarterback can also give the ball to some one else behind them so they can run the ball. - the runner runs the ball to the endzone or until they are tackled. -The offense has 4 downs(chances) to get into the endzone. -If they don't make it by the 4th down, the offensive gives the ball to the other team. -That team will become the offense, and the other team will be the defense. -If you aren't using a lot of people, then people count 1 mississippi to 5 mississippi to give the quarterback a fair chance to throw. Hope that helps.

well u shuld have ur shoulder on his waist or chest then the key is to wrap up not around him but up then thrust with ur hips if u have enough strengh in ur legs or good technique then u can lift him up and nobody can run without their legs but at the point of contact u should always be driving ur feet and never lower ur head cuz once u do that ur finished and also since ur corner u should have alot of open field tackles meaning u can get in a good stance b4 contact like a linebacker then u have a clean shot and not a do anything it takes to bring him down tackle u can put ur helmet rite underneath his chinstrap and then ull lite him up

Well for tackling you obviously want to tackle the person waist under. Go for their legs. You wont accomplish anything tackling someone by tackling them waist high. Just maybe stalling some time so other of your team mates will come and do the rest.

To tackle someone your height, you want to get down low with your head up and in an athletic position. you want to connect your shoulder with about their hip area, and then drive your hips up and out to drive them back. keep chopping your feet with a wide base to drive them back after the initial hit and hip thrust. Wrap up and put your facemask on the football with your head up. Never arm tackle, always try to get some sort of pop or drive in your tackle because if you don't have any power in your tackle or you're just trying to arm tackle, it'll be easy to break. To tackle someone a lot bigger than you, you're not going to go for their hip or anything cuz they'll just pave over you. you have to come in fast and high and AT THE LAST SECOND drop your shoulder and go for their knees and roll onto your side. This basically should take out their knees and if you miss somehow or they jump you, the roll might catch them and trip them up. It's vital for you to stay high until you drop the shoulder because you can't telegraph that ur coming low before you tackle. The keys for the first tackle is to keep your head up, drive the hips, and drive your feet. the keys for the second is to roll, and not telegraph it. I would avoid trying the "hit stick" tackle because at this level, the chances of that actually working are rly low and you can't wrap up. But hell, try to knock the lights out of him if he doesn't even see you coming.

You don't have to tackle if the wideout dosen't catch anything. When the sweep is coming your way get to the ball carrier. Lower your hips ,aim for the waist, keep your head up, wrap your arms around them, than drive them to the ground. if you end up sliding down and getting an ankle tackle oh well, but it dosen,t look as cool on tape. good luck, don't be afraid to hit someone

I played rugby in highschool. you want to aim for the knees with your shoulder. Get as low as you can to tackle and when being tackled. Use your shoulder and head for the side just below the bum to anywhere near the knees, wrap your arms around the legs and squeeze and push your body over on to them. If they are coming straight at you, then brace yourself and wrap your arms around their legs again and pull them forward on to you. One swift movement. Always remember to stay low and use a firm grip. I was a 17 yr old girl and weighed 100 lbs. if I could do it-you can do it.-good luck

there is not really much to it, but to do it
just don't be scared, hit them before they hit u, hit them hard in the chest
reall important!!!!! don't try to ram the ball carrier with yor helmet always look at what ur hitting
make contact, wrap your hands around them (grip on jersey) and run them backwards till they fall or u get some help

To tackle someone you have to be fearless and willing to take pain. Run full speed and stick your facemask right on the ball and drive him backward. Football is not a pretty game and dont expect to dominate your first year.
