Are they hardcovers or paperbacks? Paperbacks won't get you much money and are often more trouble than they are worth to sell.

However, I've sold (and purchased) a bunch of books through Amazon.com third party seller.

Look up your book on http://www.amazon.com/books

Click on the icon that says "Have one to sell? Sell yours here."
Enter all the information. Postage will be tacked on to your selling price.

Hopefully someone will come a long and want to buy your stuff. But I find that fiction paperbacks go more slowly --or not at all--so you might end up having them hang around for longer than you'd like.

If that is the case, take them to a used bookstore or book sale.

(FYI: amazon is an especially good idea for selling textbooks in september and january, when the semester begins. those are big ticket items.)

I suggest ebay/amazon, books really don't sell there, but it's worth a try.

Maybe if you still have the receits, you can return them?
