Start an internet fanzine, or even a paper-based fan-magazine type thing, or say you're writing for your school newspaper (if you've got one) and e-mail their label in advance and ask can you interview the band.

Word.

You can't buy them. If you'd like to start writing reviews (depending on what kind of music you listen to), try being a freelance writer or looking for music websites or other such web publications looking for writers, small zines looking for writers, etc. With more up-and-coming artists and underground music, it's a symbiotic relationship - bands benefit from the added publicity, the writers get to work in the music industry with music they love. Win-win!

be in their fan club first. sometimes the fan clubs give out backstage passes.
go to their merchandise table at the concert. usually the person selling their t-shirts has some pull. just ask them.
just hang out and keep your eyes opne before a show. you might just see them walking around, especially if they are a newer or less popular band. If you know what they look like you are ahead of the game.

You can't always buy them because they can sell out very fast, depending on the band. But check all of your ticket outlets and their websites for shows that you might want to attend. They usually start advertising shows about two months in advance. And be prepared to spend quite a bit of cash! (But hey, if you can't get them there, there's always scalpers!! =)) haha jk. )
