ok, well. i had a gift for an old teacher, one who i give a christmas gift to every year. but i procrastinate and didnt get it to her real fast. i knew my mother would be mad that i didnt drop it off yet, so i put it in my trunk, and told my mom that i dropped it off. (i planned on dropping it off this weekend).
well, my mom found it in my trunk and now, of course, is so mad at me for lying, because she thinks im an honest kid. for the most part, i am, but in order to have her not be mad at me for not getting the gift to my teacher yet, i lied and told her i did. now she is really mad, and i understand but i dont know what to say in order to get her to be able to know, im not an awful kid, i messed up and lied to her once. (i always tell her where im going, if i had been drinking, you know. etc.) any ideas on how to make her see i really am sorry and have her forgive me so it isnt awkward in the house every time we pass eachother for the next million weeks?

well, you did wrong, but hey who is perfect. Just tell your Mom Hey mom I made a mistake I am sorry, and I will do my best not to do it again. I ask that you forgive me, and lets start over again. If she persists then advise her hey mom we all make mistakes, all I can say is I am sorry, then forget about it.

Good Luck

take some responsibility for you procrastination and lying. Take the gift to the teacher, be honest and tell her you put it in the trunk and forgot about it. Better late than never!!! Then go to your mother, tell her that you have corrected the issue, apologize and tell her that it won't happen again and give her some time to forgive you. Sooner or later it will work out. Unfortunately, in will not be fixed in the nest 10 minutes! Sorry.

Stop thinking about yourself for a minute, & go visit your old teacher, & bring her the gift.

The only way your mom is going to learn to trust you again is if you earn it back by behaving responsibly all of the time, not just most of the time.

Go give the gift to your teacher and apologize for it being so late.

Then go to your mom and say you're sorry you put it off and you shouldn't have lied to her.

It should blow over pretty fast.

that would cause awkwardness? no offense, but your mom is overreacting. o0...so you waited a little longer to give a gift...so what?! i know shes mad at you for lying, so just tell her that you didnt want her angry at you and that youre sorry.

Its a petty situation and any anger will pass fast...just let it drop and she will to.
