Even though you haven't visited all the big cities give it a try and tell us about your experience, if possible:

NY, LA, Houston, ATL, Philly, Seattle, DC, Boston, Miami, Chicago, NO ect ....

What do you think of HOUSTON? I am planning to move there soon, and I hear it is not to best place for blacks.

Thanks for participating....!

Virtually every city in the U.S. has black parts, and there are racists everywhere, it's apart of life.

You are what you think Krist. What you reap you sow. What you believe is manifested in your life. So if you think Houston is not a good place for African Americans, then that will be your experience. You will be expecting rejection, so rejection will be your calling card and experience. However if you go into Houston with the attitude that everyone will be kind to you, with a smile on your face, and the anticipation of acceptance...you will love Houston and probably most of the people you meet. That is my 2 cents.

There are sections everywhere in cities that have African/Caribbean-Americans. In terms of the most populated areas outside of the huge American cities, I would say Newark, NJ, Gary, IN, Brockton, MA, just to name a few.

The only place that I could think of that doesn't seem as friendly to the culture as others is Boston, MA. There is a large population in the Dorchester & Roxbury sections yet the city is still rather segregated.

Huntington Beach, CA... and Manhattan Beach, CA. There is a large amount of white-power groups in those cities, although these cities are nearby Hawthorne, Lennox, Lawndale, and Gardena which are primarily Black and Hispanic cities.

I am white and everywhere I have lived or visited I have been treated nicely and poorly! You run into a$$holes where ever you go. But I will say that most of the time people are kind and it is usually how you handle a situation is how it ends.
