It's normal. Don't force her. Kids know when they are hungry and they will eat. They know when they are full and they will stop. If you push or force her to eat or clean her plate, you are setting her up for a lifetime of over-eating. Unless she stops growing-it is of little concern how much she eats, rather offer her healthy choices-fresh foods-fruits, veggies and meats, not cokes and candies and chips. Let her take what she wants and leave ther est and she'll be fine.

My 3 year old is off the growth charts for height and weight (he'll be 3 the 26th and is the size of your averge 4.5 year old) so obviously he is growing fine. And the above philosophy is the one I use. Some days he eats CONSTANTLY. Some days he eats hardly anything. KIds get what they need over 3-5 days time, not 24 hours time. She'll be fine.

Relax, don't worry! She is teething, hasn't been feeling well and is still so little. She will start eating solids again, as soon as she is ready. Keep offering her the food before the bottle if she seems disinterested back off and go to the bottle. Try not to give her juice, babies don't need much calories and a little bit of juice will trick her body and may not think she needs any more. Her bottles of formula will provide enough nourishment for now. Trust me she will not resist food for the rest of her life. Just keep feeding time stress free and she will come back around. You are doing a great job.

I don't think you should be too concern, speaking for my self. My son was the same way at age 1 and even now having 3 years old. He weights 32lbs. I have asked the doctor about his, and she saids he's doing great plus he's healthy. She would rather see him the way he is now compair to some other kids.

My sister has three kids. The oldest is 5 years old. He's over weight he weights about 61lbs. The Middle Child age 3 weights about 45lbs and the Baby age 1 weights about 30lbs.

Talk to her doctor. She's not starving, that's something I even told his doc.. thinking since he was picking on foods, he wasn't eatting much. But he is eatting. Is drinking his milk and eats when ever he wants. Plus he's healthy. Which I'm thankful for.

BEST OF LUCK!

Blend your solids. Use a blender mix carrots, meat, potatoes.
Mix red beans and rice. Mix fruits. Make homemade soups.
You have to feed the baby, forget Gerber. Use your imagination...

Rusks make a good finger food when baby starts teething. Also, cold fruit mixtures (pureed canned or soft fruit) are very refreshing to baby's gums during teething.

I had the same problem and took my baby to the doctor and they said not to worry that a baby will eat what their body needs just make sure you keep them drinking fluids.

she will come around but try to make eating seem like a lot of fun. i work in a kindergarten and when a child didn't want to eat his/her food i would play(the classic airplane game, for example)
