Your friend Gem is a fool - the boss is using his position to get what he wants; when he has it, he will want to get rid of the evidence (Gem). My husband is a boss, and that's what he'd do if he screwed around.

Don't get mad when Gem is all the sudden making twice as much as you are. As a Man, I have a hard time playing in that unevenest of playing fields.
Addition: Next week, she's buying lunch.

he may be instigating it, but if she wanted to stop it she would have DONE IT BY NOW. She is committing adultry because this guy is married. It will cause alot of problems for her.

She should say no to her boss, it is very dangerous to carry on, if things go wrong (which i'm sure they will) she stands to lose everything, Job, Self Respect, also get a very bad name for herself

Just because he is instigating it, doesn't mean she has to go along with it. It's wrong, the answer is pretty obvious.

if she plays it right, she can have a better job and more money in a really short time, then quit and get a similar job in a different company. she just needs to be smart about it and not get her feelings involved.
