My daughter is 13 years old and wants to be a vet. She is taking chemistry, physics and biology at school. She knows that it helps to have had some experience with animals before applying to universities. Can anyone provide advice as to how and where she can get experience at her age? And what would be the most useful to become a vet?

Thank you Pete. Do you think that at her age it might be difficult to find somewhere to volunteer?

she would probably benefit from some volunteering work at a vet if possible (difficut) but also a pet centre or dog kennel, stable or zoo or whatever is in your locality. If she shows motivation and interest now it will pay dividends later I can assure you.
If none of this is possile how about taking local dogs for a wlk or looking after pets for neighbours or similar.
Let me know if you want any further information.
