In meiosis 1 at the end 2 cells are formed but they are diploid however at the end of meiosis 2 each diploid cell further splits to allow 4 daughter cells to form which are haploid.

Both are haploid, but the sister chromatids are stil attached after meiosis I but not after meiosis II. Also, there are two cells after meiosis I and four after meiosis II.
