It's recommended to start with Rice Cereal at 4 months. Gerber makes that. The veggies and fruit are recommended at 6 months. Feeding foods too soon can lead to digestive problems.

No, there stomaches are not able to safely digest this food yet. I would suggest starting out at about 4 months depending on the child. If your child seems hungry all of the time right now then you can add just a lil bit of gerber rice cereal to the milk.

My doctor told us to start veggies at 4 months, after my Little one had been on cereal for a month. He also recommended to feed one type of veggie for three day before switching to another, to make sure he was not allergic. After going through all the veggies we started introducing fruits. Our doctor also told us to only introduce one meal at a time. Like dinner first, then after a couple of months add breakfast, and last add lunch. Good luck and hope this helps!

Solid foods should not be started until around 6 months of age. Baby doesn't have the enzymes present in his tummy to digest anything other than breastmilk or formula much earlier than that. Starting solids too early puts your child at risk of allergies, diabetes and obesity.

The American Pediatric Association doesn't recommend feeding baby food to children until about 6 months of age. Your baby may not be able to properly digest solid food until then. Check out www.verybestbaby.com. They have a "Is my baby ready for solid foods?" quiz.

Most doctors recommend 6 months but if your baby has a great appetite then 3 months is ok to start the veggies and fruits, but no meats until 6 months.

Babies can start baby cereal between 4-6 months. After several weeks of that they can slowly start different baby foods.

true pediatrics doesn't recommend feeding a child that early but, some Dr's will tell you if formula/breast milk isn't satisfying them you can try a tablespoon of oatmeal and pears or apple sauce only very thin.when you do this try 1 thing for a wk in case of allergic reaction.also once you star feeding them you can't stop.but always talk to your babies Dr. 1st before trying anything new. good luck

if you think that your child is ready for baby food then it doesn't hurt to TRY. If they have a hard time swollowing it then don't give it. Start with fruit because it is sweet and they usually like it. I recommend apples because they help with constipation. If you think that don't work try this and see if it works better for you.
I call this a GOODY BOTTLE
6 oz. bottle of formula
1/2 teaspoon cereal
1 teaspoon fruit
SHAKE WELL
I started both of my children on this when bottles weren't enough to hold them over for more that 3 hrs at a time. Worked for me. And it was recommended by a ped. Dr.
