Yes, it is safe. Download.com is a trusted site by many users. Also Firefox is a trusted program for many as an alternative to Internet Explorer. Make sure you get the Firefox updates and any other plug-ins that will help make your web surfing more fun.

It's safe. Download.com is associated with CNET and it is a trusted source. They usually get the download links directly from the manufacturer, so the threat of spyware is almost zero.

Download.com is a reputable site. As always, you should NEVER download anything unless you have your anti-spyware system on.
Why not, though, just download it directly from Mozilla? Any way you do it, there will be addons (search engines, toolbars, etc) that you won't want.

It's safe but you should always download a program directly from the website. Don't click on the link from another webpage even if it looks like it's legitimate. You should type the url in the address bar. That way you will always have the latest version and no virus/spyware.

Download.com is very reliable. But if you feel better about it, just go to the mozilla site and take the download from there.

In my experience, I have not gotten spyware from using download.com, but if you are not sure. Just download firefox directly from its publisher:

I've never gotten spyware or viruses with download.com its reliable dont worry i've done it many times

I downloaded this from firefox's website and was shocked at the spyware that ad-aware and spybot search and destroy found...all files clearly were mozilla firefox...I would say download at your own risk...Also my techie had warned me that it wasn't as safe as it used to be...wish I had listened.
