Because everytime I come on here there are a ton of illiterate 16 year olds asking shocking questions that they really should know the answer to. "can I get pregnant by pre-***", " Can I get pregnant if he pulls out" etc etc. Im appalled at the lack of knowledge these people seem to have, what the hell are your schools doing over there?

Im from Texas and the best thing we got that was close to Sex Education was in Health class and thats about it. Another thing however you have to keep in mind is we really dont know what some of these peoples parents are like. Some people cant go to their parents for advice and the closest they can probably get is the Internet. I am glad that some of the kids come on here that are legit ask some of the questions that way others can answer them and possibly give them some positive feedback.

If they do have Sex Ed classes, the are 1) Really Crappy or 2) The kids all giggle and laugh, and not pay attention (OMG we're talking about PENISES!!! *giggles*) or 3) The kids and young adults that are asking these questions because, they, themselves have no common sence and are dumb. And therefore they should be sterilized.

Seriously!! I think young people (girls and guys alike) should be put in chastidy belts or whatever you call em (you know, like on Men in Tights?) until they can pass an IQ, Psycho Analasis, and a VERY detailed sex education test.

But thats just me.

I know what they go through now is NOT what i went thru when i was in school. heh. My brother is just now learning sex ed but its part of health class. He says his teacher is more funny about it. I dont think it should be funny. I am always saying if they want to prevent pregnancy and everything (and i wish i knew the name) they should show this movie that i had to watch during my 'family' class i had to take. Its was... Yea.. if i had seen that BEFORE i had gotten preggers.. i prolly would NEVER had sex! LOL! Yes it was grusome.. and unnerving but it got the TRUE point across! Im sure theier are videos out there now but you show something like that (and even if it WAS effective) most parents would throw a fit!

There are classes and they are supposed to be new and for today's children But they aren't working. Because of laws and regulations schools can only say so much in sex ed a.k.a. "health". There are other classes after school and at library's. But mostly the parents are not teaching the kids and the kids don't want to talk to there parents about sex anyway Yuck

I dont think the problem is neccessarily that we DON'T have sex ed classes. I think its that the government pushes 'abstinence ONLY' 'education' so MOST of the questions asked in here are NOT addressed at school.

However, I dont think it should be the SCHOOLS responsibility to inform our nations youth about sex and sexual responsibility. Its a parents job to keep their child informed. I would NEVER trust any school system in any country to inform my kids on such an important issue.

I don't appreciate you calling our teenagers illiterate and blaming it on the school system. Sounds to me like their asking questions we have all wondered about at some point or another. Would you rather them try it first and ask questions later? I'm quite sure you didn't learn every last thing about sex in a classroom.

I agree with some comments, they did have them when I was in middle school- was called "PROJECT NO". But times have change since 1995.

It is more comfortable to ask a friend or a parent that has good communcation with their kids.

BEST OF LUCK!

You have classes in high school on sex ed. But that only means, people never paid any attention in the class or they have not been to high school yet!!

We do have sex ed classes--some schools require them. But, I think a lot of young kids are too embarrassed to ask their teachers questions to their faces.
