Life as humans is a great opportunity for spiritually growing. Yes ,we are all going to die, but then we will born again, and again and again. If you are an old soul, you are probably tired of this circle, so, get it right this time and find the way to stop the circle. Look for this book: Bhagavad- Gita by AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. Before we live, or in between lives, we plan out our life chart in Heaven, and if it's approved by the Council, then we can come down to Earth. We have a mission here to fulfill, and we get educated and learn things. We all have a purpose that we are here for, a job, so to speak. And when we go back to Heaven, we can choose if we want to remain there, or come back again.

Why does the sun rise, for sooner or later it shall also set? Why does the sun bother to burn, for one day its fuel shall be exhausted? We live because that is what we do, we die because that too, is what we do.
