This may sound harsh, but if you cannot afford to take care of an animal...you should not be a pet owner.

That does not just mean buying food and a cage for it to live in. That's means having the ability to take care of it if it is ill. If you cannot afford a veterinarians visit, don't own an animal ever again after this.

Although we hope for the best, but you have to have the ability to care properly for an animal if the worst does happen.

If you cannot go to a vet, this website has methods of euthansia.

http://www.angelfire.com/wy/deb/euth.html

That website is concerned with the well being and welfare of the animal. If it is suffering, it needs to be taken care of.

Preferably, it needs a vet visit. But if that's not possible...DO NOT let that poor animal suffer!

No offense, but if you have an animal, you have to be prepared for the unexpected and sometimes sad outcome. You need to get the animal to a vet or at least to an animal shelter with a vetrinary staff...the animal is in agony and pain with a bone sticking out...Find a vet or a shelter somewhere that can help you or find someone who works with and knows animals and can put her down in a humane way.

I hate to tell you this -- you are going to make a choice to put her down. You, or someone else, if you are too emotionally involved, would have to do it. If you don't, the bunny's pain will become unbearable. I don't know how to tell you how to put down the bunny -- people have been doing it for thousands of years. Ask a rabbi the most human way to do it -- the kosher way is humane.

I am sorry. The only thing I can think of is if you have a veterinarian, have the veterinarian write out a prescription for pain pills (or hand you samples), and if you give the rabbit an overdose, it will quietly slip away. Or simply take the rabbit to the veterinarian for euthanasia and simply explain that you cannot pay. Since veterinarians go into practice because they love animals, they won't want to see an animal suffer.

Ok. you need to take her to the vet ASAP! Do what you think is best for her. DO NOT take her to a pound! Maybe an animal rescue that wont euthenize her. Keep her calm, and dont let her fall asleep! let the vet preform surgery on her. Best of luck to both you and your bunny!

Get in touch with the PDSA, (Peoples Dispensary For Sick Animals) they offer a vet service for people with low incomes and do the work for next to nothing. Failing that ring the RSPCA and tell them the situation, they will probably send an officer round to collect your rabbit, afterall they are there to stop cruelty to animals!

A lot of places will sometimes have you sign the animal over to them and they will put it down themselves. Vet. staff have hearts and will not a let a bunny go on suffering.
