I'm having five days there at the end of this month, staying in a central hotel in the middle of the town. Now I have a guide book but, frankly, I always think that personal advice and recommendation is a million times better. So where do you think I should go, where should I eat. Don't give me too many shopping ideas - Mr. GorgeousFluffpot gets weary if I drag him around all the shops as his little fluffy legs get tired. We are buying a Barcelona pass which gives us free travel while there, but can you give me your recommendations on tings we can do?
Many thanks. The best answer will get a postcard and a kiss from me!

I'm just back from Barcelona. Highlights of my trip were visiting Park Guell (a public park unlike anything you'll have seen before and free to get into!), the Sagrada Familia (enormous church still being built), mooching around the Gothic Quarter (just off La Ramba, Barcelona's main street) and visiting FC Barcelona's ground. And of course, the best way to see the city is by the open-top touristy bus!

If you fancy a day trip out of town, Montserrat is wonderful. Even if you're not religious, it's worth a visit for the scenery alone. You take a 50 minute train journey out of town, then get to the top of the mountain by either a special train or a cable car. I loved it!
