I have always had it where when I get up everything turns black until my blood gets going and then everything is fine. Last week I stood for like 15 minutes and then I got really hot and then everything turned black and I sat and my vision still did not return. After drinking some water and splashing some cold water on my face and the back of my neck I felt fine. Has anyone else had this kind of experience?

It could be related to your blood pressure. Or it could be anemia.

I had some episodes like this in my first pregnancy and my OB's response was, "you're pregnant, right?" Great. Thanks.

During my second pregnancy I passed out behind the wheel and totaled the car. Thank God I was the only one in the car. No one else was hurt. A nurse and a firefighter witnessed the accident and took care of me until the ambulance arrived. The baby and I were fine. I did have to have some stitches and was sore from the impact with a tree for over a week. Turns out my iron was low.

They're probably already checking your BP at each appointment. I suggest you get your iron checked as well and make sure it isn't low. Start taking chelated iron supplements. (Go to the health food store to buy them. Blackstrap molassass iron caplets are a good choice.) The chelated iron is more available to your body and less likely to cause consitpation.

How far along are you? Dizzy spells like this can be a sign of preclampsia or low blood pressure, and both are very dangerous to you and your baby. Dont' stress TOO much though, apparently my mother had these same symptoms and i'm here and just fine. I'm currently 35 weeks pregnant and haven't had any dizzy spells at all, but in our prenatal courses they gave us these very same symptoms to look for and told us to head to the maternity ward for testing if we had them.

I have had this happen to me several times during my pregnancy. My Obgyn says its from getting up too fast and sometimes not having enough sugar in my system. However everyone is diffrent my suggestion would be to talk with the doctor.

if you're having spells where you nearly faint, or become dizzy, you need to get in contact with your doctor asap. make sure you're eating and drinking enough, bc you coulf have low blood sugar, or becoming dehydrated. but you need to let your doctor know whats going on. esp if you get a headache along with these symptoms. it could be a sign of high blood pressure (preclmapsia), and it can be very dangerous for you and your baby.

I've had near fainting spells at the beginning of my pregnancy but it was from lack of food. Have you told you OBGyn about this? If not, you should.

You need to consult your OBGYN, Yahoo answers is not the appropriate source of information to make a decision. Your baby's and your heatlh is so very important. Call your doctor and ask him/her this question :)

Yes, I had that happen to me at the doctors office. They had me lay down and they said it is from the pregnancy hormones going crazy.

back in the victorian era, that was the telltale sign of being pregnant.
because of the increased blood flow in your body, your balance and blood pressure are affected by pregnancy.
its amazing how your body adapts to you being pregnant.
