some white people feel they need to prove they are not prejudice, so they say things like that.

Lol you do have a point. I think because a lot of people are still racist it's considered shocking to have a black friend, a bit adventurous or rebellious. You can hear the pride and defiance in their voice when they announce to one and all "some of my best friends are black" hee hee.
That's not to say that different races can't develop genuine friendships but that can only happen if they get to know the person not their colour. Real love is colourblind.

i usually hear people say that they don't want black friends, so this is sort of new. the media doesn't like the way blacks handle themselves, so if we go by what the media says, then it is not cool to have a black friend. i have african and black friends. i have never meet a blonde before! that is not good

omg i hate it when they do that. they ask racist questions and say that they arent racist because they're friends are black. bunch of bull. all it does is make black ppl look stupid for falling for some KKK member's plan. i'll be ashamed to have some white friends

It's a goofy thing people do to show their not racist. Most of the people who say it rally aren't racists, but also don't have a single black friend, anymore than black people really have any white people they could honestly call friends.
The cultures are too different.
