Your fish have Ick. An alternative to the medicine and trips to the pet store is to raise the temperature to between 79 and 81 degrees F, but not higher. If you have any sort of air pump, get the maximum amount of aeration to counter the warmer water.
After three or four days, when the spots disappear you can drop the temp back to a comfy 76 or what ever is best for your particular pets.

Ick is usually everywhere but affects fish when the water temperature gets cold enough for the parasite to flourish. Sometimes even a trip from the pet store does it with the bag cooling during the drive home.

Your pets aren't doomed, just raise the temp and if you desire, purchase medicine. But read the labels, some treatments are good for fish but will wreak havoc with other things you might have like freshwater crabs, shrimp or frogs.

That is called Iche. It's very very easy to cure, but takes a few days and patience. I used this remedy myself a couple months back. It cured the iche, i didn't lose any fish and the water got much cleaner as a result as well.

For every gallon of water in the tank use 1/2 tbsp of salt. Take some water right out of the tank and mix it with the salt, add it back to the tank through the filter. Do this once a day for 7 days. Viola. Your fish will be cured.

Don't bother with the store bought remedies, they don't work, in my experience.

I also forgot to mention to raise the temp in the tank. Good luck.

This is probably ich. Ich is a free floating parasite found in the water. When fish become stressed or loose their slime coat the parasite attaches itself to them. there are a few things you can do. First off, do a water change....remember no more than 1/3 of the water. If you have a fresh water tank, Ich out or kick-ich are wonderful ich treatments. READ the instructions carefully.

DO NOT ADD any new fish to your tank.

If Ich persists only a steralizer added to the tank will help control future outbreaks. A steralizer uses ultraviolet light to steralize the water and kills the parasite. Be sure to add stress coat and start right to your water before pouring it into the tank.

Good luck

Your fish have ick. Mine had ick and I went to walmart and for three dollars you can buy a bottle of medicine called Ick Remover. It has the amounts to use on the back of the bottle. Follow the directions and your fish should recover in a few days. Good Luck!

Yup this is ick also known as WhiteSpot.

Its a difficult problem to get rid off - i lost 4 fish to the disease last week and two to the medication.

I think you should prepare yourself that you could loose some fish.

It's a bacteria called Ick. You can buy something for it at any store that sells fish supplies. You need to do something about it or it will kill your fish.It will also spread to other fish in your tank.Good luck!
