I am 15 years old and after losing all that weight due to my sickness, my period stopped and then with me being anorexic, it never came back. I am now eating healthy and have been since last October. Unfortunately, I still haven't gotten my period back. I am concerned that this will lead to infertility later on in life(and I want to have kids) but I don't know what else to do. My mom said that she could take me to the ObGyn, but I'm not sure that I wanna get felt up. Are there any things that I might be able to do to get my period back besides eating regular meals because I already do that. Please Help!!!

hey. if i were you just go to the ObGyn. I've been there and its really not that bad. It's better to go and be safe than sorry, later when you want to have kids.

There's a definite chance that you could have damaged yourself in the process, especially your fertility. I know that you feel uncomfortable about going to an ObGyn, but all women have to and it's advised you are checked as soon as you become sexually active or reach 18 years old anyways. So you may want to strongly consider making an appointment with the ObGyn. Sometimes they just need to do things like ultrasounds, where they put goop on your belly and run a wand over it. That doesn't sound so bad does it? When you get to the doctor's office, just voice your concerns and tell them that you are nervous and have never done it before. They are very professional and aware of uncomfortable situations. They'll usually let your mom come with you for most of the process too if that makes you feel more comfortable.

I was anorexic from age 15 to 20 and didn't have a period the whole time. I went to the doctor and they checked my estrogen levels and said they were fine. I did get pregnant at age 21 (although i chose not to have it), so all you really need to do is go to the doctor and have them take a sample of your blood so they can check your estrogen levels. I think you'll be fine, i've even had friends who didn't have periods for many years and then when they were in their 20's they had children. If you work out alot and have very low body fat then your period probably won't come back until you cut back your workouts and get your body fat around 18%.
