There is no easier or harder language - there are languages that are easier for speakers of certain languages because they are already familiar with a lot of its grammar through similarities. For example, although Japanese is hard to learn for an English native speaker, Korean speakers, whose grammars is already similar as Korean is in the same family of languages, find it easier than English.

In the case of an English speaker, German is one of the easier languages to learn, because of the similarities in grammar.

Esperanto. I'm not kidding. Its rules are absolutely regular, and the secret of mastering the vocabulary is the brilliant idea of having words made up of smaller parts joined together. Of course, it's an artificial language (that is man-made, constructed) and you might be thinking of natural languages, but I can assure you there's a wonderful Esperanto world out there. A reasonably intelligent person can get a fairly good grasp of it after a weekend of intense studying! But, more normally, you'll be able to use it fairly fluently after a month or two of regular studying. You'll never do that with any natural language.
