work energy thm states w.d is =change in the kinetic energy for me it seems to be suited for all kind of forces.

Work energy theorem is valid for conservative forces only. It is not valid for non-conservative forces like friction, viscosity etc.
For more details you should study any 10+1 grade Physics book.
