in a constructed deck tournament, what is the minimum allowed amount of cards?

I Currently use an elf deck with 43 cards (with friends, no tournaments). because it has so few, I usually draw my most important cards (allosaurus rider, Eladamri lord of leaves, etc.) Would I need to add more cards for it to be legal in constructicve?

60 cards and no more than four of any one kind (except lands).

In addition to the main deck, players are allowed a 15-card sideboard. Following the first game of a match, each player is permitted to replace any number of cards in his or her deck with an equal number of cards from his or her sideboard. Thus a player may alter his or her deck to better deal with the opponent's strategy. Tournaments are normally structured so that the first player to win two games is the winner of the match. The original deck configuration is restored before the start of the next match.

In Constructed tournaments Standard format is usually used. Standard used the 2 newest blocks and the last Core Set. Right now Ravnica: City of Guilds block, Coldsnap, Time Spiral block, and 9th Edition Core Set are what's legal in Standard.

You need at least 60 cards in your deck in Constructed. The only exceptions to this rule are in Sealed Deck or Booster Draft tournaments, where the minimum is 40 cards.

Greetings...

Yes, you would.

Sanctioned tournaments that permit you to use your own deck (Constructed) require you to have a deck of at least sixty cards.

There may be some tournaments that permit you to use cards of a lower card count, but these tournaments would not be sanctioned by the DCI.

(Note: Limited tournaments, which require you to build a deck from a supplied deck pool, permit decks of forty cards.)
