They vary by genre. Fantasy is expected to have the most, usually, around 70 to 80 thousand is considered a minimum. many of other kinds are in the 50 thousand word range. mine, run in the 120 thousand to 200 thousand word league. really if it is good, word count doesn't mean all that much. I always write more than what i think it will take, as some always gets lost in the editing process. some people will tell you this or that figure, but it even varies from publisher to publisher. 50 thousand is considered the minimum to be a novel.

Given average font and page size, you can fit about 250 words on a page. I don't know [pagewise] the average length of a book, but the last book I read was 350 pages. So, 350 pages at 250 words per page gives you 87,500 words. Roughly. I would imagine alot has to do with genre though. Some types of books just tend to be longer than others. Hope this helped!
