JK Rowling specifically said in an interview that Dumbledore is dead and is not alive, as a response to the website dumbledoreisnotdead.com

He's gone. No more. Dumbledore is dead.

We might see him yet again in Deathly Hallows but I think under a different context. Perhaps his picture maybe?

For the non-believers of Dumbledore's ultimate demise, I stole this from Wikipedia. This is from an interview Jo did after HPB was released and everyone was reeling from Dumbledore's death....

J.K. Rowling confirmed on 2 August 2006 that Dumbledore is, in fact, dead, saying, "you shouldn't expect Dumbledore to do a Gandalf". She also said: "But I see that I need to be a little more explicit and say that Dumbledore is definitely...dead. And I do know - I do know that there is an entire website out there that says - that's name is DumbledoreIsNotDead.com so umm, I'd imagine they're not pretty happy right now. But I think I need - you need - all of you need to move through the five stages of grief, and I'm just helping you get past denial."[1]

I loved him too ya'll but now we've got to worry about the rest who are still with us.

J.K. Rowling has already stated that Dumbledore is dead. She said that she wanted Harry to be on his own. She also said that there is no way a character in her books can come back to life.

He is not alive but I think he will communicate to Harry through his headmaster's office picture. I hope that will happen and ease Harry's grief over Dumbledore's death.

i've heard of a leak that snape actually kills dumbledore so that snape could prove he "switched sides" therefore, he could spy on voldemort for the order of the pheonix. dumbledore told snape beforehand that if the need be, he should perform the act. it was imperative that snape had means of reporting voldemort's odious plans to the order.
harry kills snape, however, because he finds out the plan after he murders him.

In some aspects, he is the greatest wizard of all time, so ya I think he is still alive, but she has to end it all to quit writing the books. But, she should have came up with a better way to tie all the ends up.

Jo has confirmed that Dumbles is truly dead. She also established that once someone dies in the wizarding world, they cannot be brought back to life.
