1. Crime (there are many people in jail/prison who are innocent. example: the murder rate in New Orleans. im in New Orleans right now. )
2. LSD. (the drug was passed out by the CIA back in the 50s to see what effect it would have on people)
3. ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS (no strong border protection. maybe we should learn how to protect our borders like russia did during the cold war).
4. OBESITY. ( not to say that its not their own fault for being overweight, but most of the healthy, nutritious foods are expensive and hard to find. too many preservatives. the FDA should pass laws on this since it is now an epidemic.)
5.WAR ON DRUGS. (just another way for our government to tax us. so instead of doing something about alcoholism, especially with teens, and Cigarette deaths, the government wastes tax money by locking up kids for having half a joint on them. a joint that they will not die from, unlike cigarettes.)

First of all you asked a question and just because idle chit chat didn't respond the way you may have wanted her to, why go there with the sarcasim. She was only voicing her opinion like you are voicing yours. Yes, there may be many people in jail/prison who are innocent which means that the true criminals are still roaming the streets and still committing the crimes. LSD may have been passed out in the 50's but this ain't the 50's and LSD is no longer the problem, is it? OBESITY, Fast food chains have been around for many years and I'm sorry but I disagree with healthy foods being expensive. Vegitables are the least expensive food and the healthiest. You can get salads at about any fast food place out there, along with low fat dressing. Now i do agree with you on the WAR ON DRUG ISSUE, to a certain extent. When it comes to kids that drink to much or smoke, yes it is a problem. But why blame the government. I think the parents may have a little to do with it too. Most kids that drink and smoke have parents that does the same. I don't know of anyone stabbing there mother or father 100 times for a drink or a cigarette. I haven't heard of anyone killing innocent people for a drink or a cigarette. Yes, the government has alot of negative impact on our society, but they cant be totally blamed for the things that you have mentioned. And like Michael Jackson said, if you want to change the world start with the "Man in the Mirror."

There are innocent people in prison for murder and other crimes. But the government really wants them there. They want nothing more than to get underprivileged people out of the way. They don't mind paying for it just so long as they don't have to see them.

People are always talking about prison rehabilitation but I don't think it exists. I personally know people that have been to prison and got their GED or other degrees and it didn't change who they were. There are a lot of college educated people in the pen that got there after they received their sheepskin.

As far as illegal immigrants, the government could tighten the borders if they wanted to, but then there would be nothing to talk about and the heat would be placed on them for other issues.

LSD and crack were both brought into our country by the government to pacify a certain kind of people. And to be honest, the plan that they set forth is going exactly the way they want it to.

I agree with every word you stated about the obesity situation. No more needs to be said.

And you already know the reason why they don't do anything about alcoholism. It's a big money business that they are getting a cut from. From the growing of the grain to the cost of a DUI ticket, the government has their hands all in it.

Sorry I went on so long. And I know there are people out there who will not agree with my statements.

sorry, but i'm siding w/ chitchat! 1/2 of what you state is incorrect: war on drugs = taxes. war on drugs equals LESS crime. look at the meth epidemic...do you want that left unchecked? GAWD!
the FDA doesn't PASS LAWS.
there are many innocent people in jail: true, but a far greater %-age ARE guilty! and should not N.O. murderers be in jail? the murder rate in N.O. is an example of... what? the crime rate or innocents in jail? LSD was a controlled experiment, not handed out to people. the government brought obesity on it's constituency?
clarify & simplify your question, and people might answer. i had to backtrack to this question to find out why so few answered it the first time, and if wasn't so gawd-awful-bored, i'd not have bothered this time either. in fact, i'm not even bothering to proofread this... it's merely typing practice time!

You need to enroll in Logic 101. You say "there are many people in jail/prison who are innocent. example: the murder rate in New Orleans". What are you TALKING about? This is non sequitor. Innocent people in prison? Murder rate in NO? Where is the connection? How is the latter an example of the former? Also, you're down on LSD but up on Pot? Which is it? How come you get to pick and choose? Obesity? This is the government's fault? How about people who just can't resist super-sizing every time they go to McDonald's?
