Traditionally, aquarists are encouraged to place no more than 1 inch of fish (length) per gallon of aquarium water into a tank. If a tank is kept VERY clean and well-filtered and aerated, you can often stretch that to 2 inches of fish per gallon.

So for example, for a 29 gallon aquarium (you probably have filters and gravel taking up 2 gallons of volume), you have an effective volume of 27 gallons of water. You could keep 27 (1-inch) fish, or 14 (2-inch) fish, or etc.

You could put about 10-15 zebra danios in it, though I also would get another male swordtail or see if you can find the male swordtail a home and get three female swordtails, that way they wont pick on the smaller fish, danios.

the rule of thumb is 1" of fish to one gallon of water. Danios grow to be about 2.5" You could probably get away with adding 5 or 6. View the following web site for other information on Danios

Zebra danios are small, non aggressive community tank fish. You can have many. The Betta is not a good choice for a community tank. I'm surprised the swordtail is not nipping it, but so far, I guess there is a lot of room in your tank since you have so little fish.

I think 10 of them should be ok considering that you already have other species in the tank and that danios like to play and run after each others really fast, so they need some space. Good luck!
