cannot use I E, checked firewall(ok) cannot get home page or google.too new at this kind of thing. any help?

have tried all internet options etc. and cannot figure this out.must use aol and search in order to do anything online. (which is ok but it still bothers me)

Sorry, much more information is needed before we can help.

How does your computer connect to the Internet? Dial-up? DSL modem? Cable modem?

What is the exact symptom of the problem? Does IE just hang and eventually timeout?

Do you know how to use a DOS command window so that you can run

C> ipconfig /all

...and report the settings it displays? (particularly the IP address and DNS server address).

Firefox is a much better browser
