I just had a bunch of my friends listen to the singles "This Ain't A Scene It's An Arms Race" and "The Carpal Tunnel Of Love" and 3 out of 5 of my friends hated it! They said that they are sounding too much like rap, or like Panic! At The Disco, when they obviously are just trying to get a new sound (and just because Pete Wentz at the MTV VMA's said that they were jealous of P!ATD doesn't mean that they would copy them) and get a wider variety of fans.
Do you like the old FOB or the new FOB better? Why?
I love both, I am a Fall Out Boy freak and I always will be.

Well...probably because their dramatic change in their music.. but I will always love Fall Out Boy no matter what changes they make!! Of course I like the old Fob better.. I miss them when they weren't big. Nobody knew of them. But all thats changed due to MTV. Ughhh.. and they are not copying Panic!.. in case they are forgetting..Pete MADE Panic...he SIGNED Panic.. if it wasn't for Pete,Panic wouldn't be where they are today. =]

My friends feel the same way, and it drives me nuts! But you somewhat have to agree because FOB's 'I don't care what the public thinks' attitude is dissovling and they seem to becoming a group thats forming their music into the newest hits, not music that they like to make. In some ways Panic! At the Disco are the new FOB.

Good for you - now you got the "why" part right, and the next step is to realize that FOB are not a very original band :-)
Fashions change, ever heard of that? I guess they're falling out - nomen est omen, as the Romans said.
OK, the real deal is that they have good energy and nice tunes and everything is almost good - just nothing "special," no unique magic. If they find that little extra something, they might be great.

i like both. they have always been different and that separates them from all of the other bands out there. i love their original style and choice of lyrics. i can't wait for the new album to come out next month. they are just trying something new and are just experimenting. i love the new sound. i don't think they are trying to copy panic!.
i love the new FOB song. it's awesome.

I'm a Fall Out Boy freak myself and I think everything that they have ever put out there and made, was absolutely amazing and mind blowing. I can't wait for Infinity On High :)

I actually never liked Fall Out Boy-I personally think they are posers and I hate their music style. But thats just me.

I hate them and always had but i can easily answer your question. Fall out Boy and other crappy bands like that are only liked because of the trend. the trend stops, the music dies. simple.

They are falling in with peer pressure. Or their tast of music is changing. Most of the people at my school hate fallout boy. I love them though.

i hate them cause this girl at school likes them i do not like that girl she is like a hoe and bitchy all the time and cannot stop talking about them that made me hate them and the fact that she would bang pete over her boyfriend which is my freind is just wrong and i hate her
