I was shocked to hear a 10 year old kid died after watching the Saddam video on TV. he tried to hang him-self but he didnt want to die.....this makes me feel kinda bad that i posted the movie on youtube.

That is very sad and unfortunate but...even if he did think that Saddam's execution wasn't real you'd think he have at least enough sense to know that a REAL hanging will kill you.

Very sad, hate to hear of any kid dieing. But this goes back to parenting. Children do not have a good concept of death and this story could have just as easily been about shooting, stabbing or beating someone, all of which have had news play. If you want a real shocker look how many die from self erotic asphyxiation a year, and I have yet to figure out how kids are learning about that. Or how many very young kids get run over because they don't know to look out for traffic yet.
I take that story as a reminder to keep a close eye on my kid and try to teach him as best I can. Kids are going to mess up, that is part of growing up. But we have to be extra careful so that their mistakes do not end up tragic.

Parents are responsible for monitoring their 10 year old children's television and internet viewing. The media is responsible for broadcasting inappropriate content during "prime time" and/or without a parental advisory. Moreover, you posted the movie on youtube not on television. You are not responsible. In the future you may wish to post positive instead of negative content and leave the negative political content to the media (unless you have an exclusive home video of the police beating a suspect or a politician accepting a bribe, etc.) just to protect your own obviously sensitive feelings.

For the most area i'm hostile to the inability of life penalty, inspite of the indisputable fact that Saddam, if in penitentiary for existence might want to quicker or later be gotten out by his followers raiding the penitentiary. A liberal would not consider hanging to be acceptable treatment of a human being . It is the conservative values of death and torture that lead to tragedy .Do not feel responsible in any way .After all as conservatives say it is the parents responsibility to look after their Kids . Is the typical American parent educated enough to raise a child or should we pass a law demanding a license to reproduce and demand medical tests to insure no deformed or mentally handicapped children are born .
If conservatives get there way this could be the future Murder torture and police beatings everyday to maintain order .

I think that a 9 or 10 yr old child is old enough to understand death. There may be more to this story.

It's very sad. It goes back to "Be careful little eyes what you see"! I prayed that the execution would never be televised, but it was. Saddam deserved what he got but I don't think that anyone should view it.

If this kid was dumb enough to play hanging victim,i don't think that he was destined to have a long life anyway.It's natures way of weeding foolishness from the gene pool.

What the heck!? Why would a child be copying that? It's not like Saddam is some sort of role model or anything. My guess is the child was already suicidal or something.
And the movie on YouTube? You taped a 10 year old child killing himself? You're a sick person if that's what you meant.

a nine year old boy in pakistan killed himself by hanging also, and a 10 year old indian girl attempted it. maybe their tvs dont have Vchips. or maybe its a new chapter in the darwin awards.
