How can I beat Wish Cave on Pokemon Mystery Dungeon for the Nintendo DS?

I entered with my some of my strongest fighters, Moltres and Feraligatr, in hopes of saving Medicham, but I was shocked when the rules stated both of them were going to be brought from levels 43 and 78 down to 1. How can I defeat the dugeon, and please if you can, tell what gift Medicham will give me.

you will want to change your team. i chose to bring only one pokemon, figuring that i'd recruit as i went along - but for the purpose of doing the gift from medicham, you don't want to necessarily recruit

bring pokemon that don't evolve, unless they are possible starters. why? stats. you've already seen that some pokemon that should have great stats when they evolve actually get worse stats (gloom, paras, etc..) - go for something that's hardy to begin with. perhaps something you're don't usually use. like tauros, or aerodactyl

you can only bring money with you, so leave all items in the store. eat poisoned food just before you use the steps to the next floor, so that the steps will cure the poison. well, i don't think food was a problem in this dungeon.

use tms frequently. you won't be able to restore your moves, and in the beginning you'll need a lot of moves. so when you run out of PP, simply teach a move to replace that move.

medicham gives an item that is required to get jirachi, but i don't think it can be done the first time you do the dungeon, you just get the stone.
