I do. The trick is to force yourself to constantly think about what you are doing. Never taking for granted anything, or letting it become just a routine. I am blessed.

Oh, my gosh, YES. Mostly what I have is an amazing family -- a wonderful husband who is still my best friend after 17 years of marriage; two phenominal teenagers whose company I enjoy and who love me; parents-in-law who treat me like their own daughter; a beautiful house high on a mountain top; great neighbors who I can count on for anything; a best friend who knows my deepest darkest secrets and loves me anyway; a church family who would never let me face a crisis alone; and a Heavenly Father who knows me, loves me and wants me to be happy.

As far as material things are concerned, I lived in Austria for a year and a half and even though they are a very well-off country, they still don't have the advantages that we spoiled Americans have. Very few live in private houses or have more than one car. Most don't have clothes dryers and almost no one owns a microwave. Most people don't have air conditioning. I loved Austria but I was definitely glad to be back in the good ole US of A.

After a hard year of crises (death of loved ones, financial hardships, etc.) I appreciate now more than ever all that I am blessed with. I don't even mind too much that my couch is almost 17 years old (ha ha).
